ACTIVITIES

The Club meets on-the-air every Tuesday at 1830 on 145.490-(PL107.2) until the Club's repeater is up.  There is a monthly business meeting and breakfast at Hooties at the Elks in Ponderay.  Breakfast is at 0900 and the meeting begins about 1000.

For the past several years, members have assisted with the annual Lion's Club 4th of July Parade and with the Lake-to-Forest Triathlon providing communication along the route.  Other activities include an annual picnic.

A number of members are ARES volunteers and three are members of Army MARS.  If interested in ARES, download the application below.  If interested in the MARS (military affiliated radio service), visit their website or contact KC7PHQ or K7EVE.

The Club's repeater is located on Bald Mountain and uses the frequency of 146.780 (-) with a PL of 100.  One of the members also has a repeater on Baldy and it is used when the Club's repeater is down.  This frequency is 145.490 (-) PL 107.2.

Sister Club

Kootenai Amateur Radio Society, KARS, is our neighbor to the south.  BCARC has an open invitation to attend their meetings and social events as they have an open invitation to attend BCARC's.  The KARS bunch have a "Donut Day" every Wednesday at the "Super 1" in Rathdrum. They get there about 8AM and stay until whenever.  The topics of conversation varies and is great fun.  Their formal meeting is the second Monday of the month. Talk in on 147.080.

KARS is well represented on the "Northwest Traffic Net".  Members of the net meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month for breakfast at The Dugout in Post Falls.

Club Dues

Club dues support the club's repeater and is used to purchase items that can be use by all members.   Dues are due in January, $12.00 per year for each licensed amateur radio operator or $18.00 per family if there is more than one amateur radio operator living at the same address.

Please prorate dues to the end of the year ($1.00 or $1.50 per month) if renewing or joining for the first time.  You may pay for more than one year at a time.  Send dues to Evelyn at the above address.

For newly licensed HAMs (licensed for less than one year), dues are waived for the remainder of the calendar year in which they join.  Download an application and send the completed form to Evelyn.

BCARC has been an ARRL Affiliated Club since May 1969.  As as affiliate, the Club will receive a one time $15.00 rebate on your ARRL membership dues if you are joining ARRL for the first time OR you are rejoining following a two or more years' absence.  Reinstated is the $2.00 rebate for renewals of 2 or more years.  Download directions and special application.  Acrobat reader is required.  If another format is desired or you need it sent by snail mail, contact Evelyn.
